About the club
The history of the club goes back to 1979 when it was founded as Gosport Joggers. In 1983 we adopted the present name of Gosport Road Runners.
Membership is open to all adult men and women and members are actively encouraged to take part in all forms of running from 5k to marathon, x-country to triathlon.
Where we meet and run

The tennis courts.
We meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Alverstoke Lawn Tennis Squash and Badminton Club situated on Green Lane at 7pm. Within a short distance of the club there are a variety of places to run including town, beaches and countryside. Most Tuesdays are split between a speed training session and a shorter distance session from two up to about five miles whereas on Thursdays the distances range from two to seven.
The first Tuesday of every month is a timed 5k run so that you can chart your progress.
We also hold Club races with trophies in many categories at the 5k, 10k, 10 mile, half and full marathon distances, as well as a very achievable award scheme.
The benefits of joining
A monthly newsletter is available to all members, to which we would encourage any budding authors to contribute social or running orientated articles.

BBQ at the club
Currently our fees are £21 for single and £30 for partnered memberships, and members can join the Tennis Club as either social or playing members at a reduced 'Road Runners' membership fee in order to take full advantage of the excellent facilities offered.
You are most welcome to ask any questions or offer any comments to members of our committee whose details can be found on the contact page.
