Online entry is available via Runners World from www.runnersworld.co.uk/gosport.
Gosport Road Runners invite you to take part in the 23rd running of this event. The race takes place on Sunday 16th November 2008 commencing at 10am. The start and finish venue is Bay House School, 18 Gomer Lane, Alverstoke, Gosport, Hampshire, PO12 2QP. Directions will be included in the race programme.
Please note that the starting time this year has been brought forward by one hour and the race commences at 10am.
Closing date for postal entries is 3rd November 2008. Cheques should be made payable to Gosport Road Races.

Entry on the day will incur an additional amount of £2.00 on above fees.
All finishers will receive a medal and results will be on our home page shortly after the event.

Fun run
Fun Run of 1.2km, which is off road and for under 12s. Medal and goody bag for all finishers. Entry is £2.00 on the day. Start time 10.20am. We want this to be an enjoyable experience so if your child wants you to run with them, that is okay. No medal for parents!
Facilities
Facilities including, showers, toilets, changing and secure baggage area are provided along with refreshments. St Johns Ambulance is providing medical care. Car Parking is available close to venue.

Other
Medal-engraving - There will be a facility for you to have your medal engraved.
T-shirts with the names of all entrants received by 3rd November will be available for purchase at the finish.
Sports equipment will be on sale in the finish area through Up and Running.
About the race
An excellent turn out last year saw just under a thousand runners take to the start line. Winchester and District Athletic Club had a tremendous team performance winning both the Mens and Womens title. Toby Lambert destroyed the previous best Race Record, which had stood for fifteen years, by 19 seconds as he raced home in a terrific 1hr 5min 36 sec.
Shona Crombie-Hicks stormed away from the field to win in a comprehensive style. She recorded a fine 1hr 17min 42sec, some four minutes ahead of the next runner.
Kate Rowe was awarded the Wheelchair prize finishing in 2hr 5 min 7sec.
Race Director, Dave Little commented after the race that 'The weather was superb for racing. We had good sponsorship from Carpet Fayre and we had a good mix of entrants. We encourage runners of all abilities to enter, so we had Club Runners to Fun Runners and a lot of people running the event for charity as well. We had great help from members of Gosport Road Runners and had more than 100 volunteers helping to make sure everything went smoothly. It was a very successful day.'
