Next Tuesday the novices from the beginners course will be given a route to run that is shorter (by at least half) than the 10km that the rest of the club will run. You will need to meet at the usual time (just before 7pm) at the junction of Stokes Bay Road and Jelicoe Avenue.
There is a map after the page break.

The Summer XC results are out. Congratulations to all who took part on a tough course on a hot night. Special mention to Lorraine as the only woman from the club who ran and sacrificed some skin to the hills for the cause.
I suspect I'll not be running very fast at training this evening. |

It's summertime and so it's time for the club's popular Annual Relay. The emphasis is on fun and an opportunity to socialise with club members and families. Mixed ability teams will be selected, with each runner completing a 2.5 mile leg, starting and finishing at the Club. A free BBQ will follow, but please free to bring along a contribution of food (e.g. salad, snacks or deserts).
The relay will be on Sunday 18 July 2010, 0930 for 1000 start.
If you are running please put your name on the list at the club by Thursday 16th July. This is very important because it allows the teams to be made up to be roughly equal. |

If there was to be an award for Man Of The Match then it would have to go to Andy Austin who, even knowing how tough the route is from doing the marathon, ran two legs of the relay when Paul Thurle dropped out due to injury. You'd be hard pushed to work out from the times which two legs he did. Well done sir. |

There's a good article about running in hot weather on Jeff Galloway's website. |
